Scams
A scam can look like a friend, a shop or a game. Do not “test” the link. Many scammers push for urgency — that is a sign in itself.
In short
Do not open the link. Change passwords. Call the bank if money was taken. Report the account in the app. Report digital crime to the Danish police. The Consumer Ombudsman takes complaints about misleading purchases. A real shop does not ask for gift cards or codes in a chat. Talk with your child about what happened — without scolding if they were tricked.
1
Stop, and do not open the link
Close the message. Do not send codes, national ID or card numbers. If your child already tapped, change passwords at once. Take screenshots of the message before you delete it — for the bank or police.
2
Contact the bank if money left
Use the bank’s official app or the number on your card — not the number in the message. Ask to freeze the card if it was used. The sooner you call, the better the chance of stopping further charges.
3
Report in the app
Report the user where it happened. Keep screenshots. Report financial fraud and digital crime to the Danish police. If it looks like misleading marketing or a hidden subscription, you can complain to the Consumer Ombudsman. Warn friends in the same group if the scam is spreading there.
