How to limit spending in Roblox

Roblox can cap how much money your child spends inside the game. That cap does not cover the App Store, Google Play, or gift cards. Gift cards and purchases outside the game are still your responsibility — check those separately.

Game coins and a controller

In short

Link your Roblox account to your child’s, set a monthly amount under Parental Controls, and turn off store purchases on the phone. Without a store lock, they can still buy Robux on iPhone or Android. Start with the cap in Roblox, then check the phone store — both need to be in place.

  1. 1

Link your account to your child’s

Your child opens Roblox, goes to Settings (gear) and Parental Controls. Tap Add parent and enter your email. Follow the email and agree to link the accounts. Roblox may ask for ID or a payment card to check that you are an adult. Use an email you actually check — the invitation expires if it sits unread.

  2. 2

    Open Parental Controls

Sign in to your own Roblox account. Go to Settings, then Parental Controls. On a computer the gear is top right. On a phone: More at the bottom right, then Settings. If you have more than one child, select the right account before setting a limit.

  3. 3

    Set a monthly limit

Select your child’s account. Under Settings you manage, choose Spending restrictions. Set a monthly limit. To block paid spending, set it to 0. The limit resets at the end of the month and does not roll over. Gift cards are not included. Talk with your child about what the amount covers — so there are fewer surprises mid-month.

  4. 4

    Turn on spending alerts

In the same place you can get purchase alerts. Choose all transactions if you want to see them at once. Roblox also sends high-spend alerts by default. That way you can react before the monthly cap is used up.

  5. 5

Also lock purchases on the phone

The Roblox cap applies inside Roblox — not in the App Store or Google Play. On iPhone: use Ask to Buy in Family Sharing, or turn off in-app purchases in Screen Time. On Android: require approval in Family Link. On Xbox and PlayStation, set the limit on the console. Also check whether a payment card is saved in the store — that can bypass the game’s own cap.

If money has already been taken, start with the receipt in email or the bank. Refunds are handled by Apple, Google, the console, or Roblox — not by ParentPilot. If this is gambling or chasing losses, call StopSpillet on 70 22 28 25. Keep screenshots of purchases and dates if you need to complain.
